Job Summary
A growing organization in the medical devices and supplies industry is seeking an experienced Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in San Juan, PR. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning key financial processes, maintaining accurate records, supporting month-end and year-end close, and contributing to sound financial decision-making.
The Accountant will work closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams in a professional, values-driven environment that emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, teamwork, efficiency, and high-quality internal and external service. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, complete, and timely financial statements, reports, journal entries, and account analyses.
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers, fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, corporate loan records, and amortization schedules.
- Perform bank reconciliations, cost of sales analysis, monthly billing, tax filings, and general ledger account reviews.
- Support monthly and annual closing processes, including documentation, reconciliations, variance review, and reporting.
- Assist internal and external audit processes by providing accurate financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Help improve accounting procedures, internal controls, documentation organization, and the efficient use of financial systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $45,000 to $46,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prepare financial statements, accounting reports, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support.
- Maintain fixed assets, depreciation, loan schedules, subsidiary ledgers, billing records, and tax-related documentation.
- Analyze general ledger accounts, cost of sales, financial variances, and supporting accounting records.
- Support audits, internal controls, financial documentation, and reporting requests from finance leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience performing similar accounting functions.
- Solid knowledge of the full accounting cycle, GAAP, and applicable Puerto Rico tax regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using accounting systems or ERP platforms such as Dynamics GP, Acumatica, or similar systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify variances, and recommend corrective action.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing, preparing, and maintaining financial records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and operational information with discretion and professional ethics.
- Strong organization, prioritization, follow-up, and deadline management skills in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, collaborate with teams, and interact professionally across organizational levels.
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, and extended hours when business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the medical devices, healthcare, distribution, or regulated industry environment.
- Prior experience supporting internal and external audits.
- Exposure to payroll processing, internal control improvements, and accounting procedure development.
- Experience serving as a backup resource for finance or accounting leadership functions.
