Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Production Supervisor for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Fountain Valley, CA within the aerospace and defense manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for a hands-on production leader who can guide teams, maintain quality standards, support on-time delivery, and drive continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The Production Supervisor will oversee daily 2nd shift operations, coach production employees, coordinate schedules and resources, and partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Operations. Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily 2nd shift production activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and adherence to standards.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, customer specifications, and quality management requirements.
- Monitor production metrics including productivity, quality, scrap, rework, and delivery performance.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and production schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve production issues, support corrective actions, and identify Lean process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay Rate: $40 to $43 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Supervise 2nd shift manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-focused production.
- Coordinate daily labor planning, equipment usage, and production schedules to support on-time delivery.
- Lead production teams, monitor performance metrics, and support corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.

- 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, IPC/WHMA-A-620, SOP compliance, and quality management systems.
- Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling.
- Proven ability to lead teams, solve problems, improve processes, and maintain accountability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment supporting aerospace and defense requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
- Must comply with all company safety policies and help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Contract manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
