Job Summary
A growing organization in the residential and commercial construction, land development, and rental property space is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across multiple related entities. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with 3-5 years of well-rounded accounting experience who enjoys variety, accuracy-focused work, and supporting a fast-moving business environment.
The Staff Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting functions, cash activity, reconciliations, intercompany entries, and entity-level reporting support. This role offers exposure to multiple areas of corporate accounting within the construction and real estate development industry, making it a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build deeper accounting experience in a stable, team-oriented office setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cash updates, record cash activity, and assist with deposit tracking and posting.
- Complete account analysis, bank reconciliations, and rental portfolio reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Record lot and land closings, intercompany entries, and other accounting transactions related to construction and development activity.
- Provide secondary support for accounts payable processing and related accounting functions.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with ongoing financial reporting support.
- Use Excel and industry-specific accounting software to organize, review, and reconcile financial data.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: $60,000 to $67,500 per year.
- Position type: Direct hire.
- Classification: Hourly, non-exempt.
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, work permitting.
- Work arrangement: In office, Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Support accounting functions for multiple entities related to construction, land development, residential rentals, and related operations.
- Manage daily cash updates, deposits, reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Record lot and land closings, intercompany entries, and other recurring accounting transactions.
- Assist with accounts payable and general corporate accounting support.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong general accounting knowledge, including reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and transaction recording.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work accurately across multiple entities, accounts, and business lines.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an in-office team environment with changing daily priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accounting degree strongly preferred.
- Experience working with multiple entities strongly preferred.
- Experience in construction, real estate development, property management, land development, or residential rental accounting preferred.
