An Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Manager oversees the financial transactions of an organization, managing both the payables and receivables functions. Responsibilities include supervising a team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and coordinating with vendors and clients. The AP/AR Manager is responsible for maintaining financial records, resolving discrepancies, and implementing efficient processes to optimize cash flow. Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role, as the AP/AR Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organization.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals, ledgers, or computers.
  • Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases using specialized accounting software.
  • Operate 10-key calculators and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
  • Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables regarding cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
  • Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Economics and Accounting: Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Law and Government: Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
