Short Description:

A Project Manager (Technical) leads and coordinates technology-focused projects from initiation through completion, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met. They work closely with engineers, developers, and other technical teams to define project scope, manage resources, and address technical challenges. Responsibilities include tracking progress, mitigating risks, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. The role requires balancing technical understanding with strong organizational and leadership skills to drive successful project outcomes.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee technical projects from initiation through completion
  • Define technical project requirements, goals, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Coordinate internal and external technical resources to meet project objectives
  • Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Communicate technical project status, milestones, and updates to stakeholders and leadership
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring technical specifications are met
  • Lead project meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions to drive decision-making
  • Ensure all project documentation, such as requirements, test plans, and deployment plans, is complete and up-to-date
  • Oversee the integration and validation of new technologies or systems into business operations
  • Facilitate resolution of technical challenges and prioritize tasks to maintain project momentum

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; PMP or similar certification preferred
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering principles, software development, IT systems, or relevant technologies
  • Project Management: Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies, including sprint planning and backlog management
  • Communication: Excellent ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead technical teams
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify problems and implement effective solutions quickly
  • Tools: Proficient with project management and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar platforms
  • Leadership: Ability to guide technical teams, build consensus, and drive project success
  • Risk Management: Skilled in identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical and project risks
