Short Description:

A Safety Technician is responsible for supporting workplace safety programs by monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining safety systems and equipment. They conduct safety audits, identify potential hazards, and assist in implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. The role involves documenting safety activities, providing training or guidance to employees, and collaborating with management to promote a culture of safety. Safety Technicians help minimize workplace accidents, protect personnel, and support overall operational safety. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of safety regulations, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor workplace conditions and practices, recommending corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Maintain records of safety audits, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and preparation of reports
  • Conduct safety training and education for employees on proper procedures, emergency response, and hazard awareness
  • Collaborate with management and department teams to address safety concerns and implement preventive measures
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Participate in emergency drills and support emergency response planning
  • Promote a culture of safety by encouraging employee engagement and awareness initiatives

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Experience: 2–5 years of revenue cycle, medical billing, or healthcare financial analytics experience
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Excel, EHR systems, billing software, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Analytical Ability: Strong skills in data analysis, trend reporting, and problem-solving
  • Revenue Cycle Knowledge: Understanding of coding (ICD-10, CPT), billing regulations, and payer requirements
  • Communication Skills: Ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong accuracy in reviewing financial and patient account data
  • Process Improvement: Experience with workflow optimization or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
