Short Description:

A Quality Inspector is responsible for examining products, materials, or components to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. They perform inspections, measurements, and tests, identifying defects or deviations in the production process. The role involves documenting inspection results, communicating findings to production and quality teams, and supporting corrective actions as needed. Quality Inspectors help maintain product consistency, regulatory compliance, and overall operational quality. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of inspection techniques are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Examine products, components, and materials to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform visual inspections, dimensional measurements, and functional testing using calibrated tools and instruments
  • Identify defects, non-conformities, or deviations from specifications and document findings accurately
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address issues and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct routine audits of production processes, equipment, and materials to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, logs, and quality reports for management review and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality
  • Communicate inspection results effectively to supervisors, engineers, and production personnel
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and workplace regulations during all inspection activities
  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in quality assurance, manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection, quality control, or manufacturing operations
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with inspection tools, measurement devices, and quality standards
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to identify defects and deviations accurately and consistently
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of investigating quality issues and recommending corrective actions
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting findings and collaborating with teams
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, detect trends, and support process improvements
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and proper handling of materials
