Short Description:

A Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and monitoring products or materials to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. They perform measurements, analyze test results, and identify defects or deviations in production processes. The role involves documenting findings, collaborating with production and engineering teams, and supporting corrective and preventive actions. Quality Control Technicians help maintain product consistency, regulatory compliance, and overall manufacturing efficiency. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of quality control procedures are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Perform tests, measurements, and analyses using calibrated instruments and laboratory equipment
  • Document inspection results, deviations, and non-conformance issues accurately in quality management systems
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control protocols
  • Conduct audits of equipment, processes, and materials to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards
  • Participate in root cause analysis, process improvement, and continuous quality enhancement initiatives
  • Communicate findings and quality concerns effectively to management and cross-functional teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements during all quality activities
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in quality control, manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or manufacturing operations
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and laboratory testing methods
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in inspections, measurements, and documentation of quality data
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify defects, investigate issues, and recommend effective corrective actions
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting findings and collaborating with teams
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support process improvement initiatives
  • Safety Awareness: Understanding of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards
