A Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing engineering projects from conception through completion to ensure technical, budgetary, and schedule objectives are met. They collaborate with design, construction, and operational teams to solve engineering challenges, review plans, and monitor project progress. The role involves preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Project Engineers help deliver projects efficiently, safely, and to specification. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and specifications are met
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, operations, and procurement, to develop project plans and technical solutions
  • Review project designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and adjust schedules or resources as needed to maintain deadlines
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project performance, quality, and safety adherence
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project updates for stakeholders and management
  • Identify potential risks, challenges, and resource constraints, proposing mitigation strategies
  • Assist in budgeting, cost estimation, and procurement of materials and equipment required for projects
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project outcomes and recommending process enhancements
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers, technicians, and project staff

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; Master’s preferred for advanced roles
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in project engineering, construction, or industrial projects
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management, and relevant industry standards
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, schedule, and manage resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying engineering challenges and implementing practical solutions
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting project updates
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, and performance metrics to guide decisions
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices
