A Metal Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components to create finished products or structures according to specifications. Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements
  • Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
  • Perform welding, grinding, bending, and other metalworking processes to create finished products
  • Inspect and measure finished components for accuracy, ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Maintain and operate fabrication machinery, including presses, shears, and CNC equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other fabricators to ensure project specifications are met
  • Repair or modify metal components as needed for maintenance or custom projects
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and production timelines
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, including proper handling of tools, metals, and welding equipment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fabrication efficiency, quality, and safety

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in metal fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing preferred
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or machining
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of metalworking processes, materials, and fabrication techniques
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot fabrication challenges and implement effective solutions
  • Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring, cutting, assembling, and inspecting metal components
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of OSHA regulations, welding safety practices, and proper use of PPE
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and engineers
