Short Description:

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations. They troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, replace parts, and support preventative maintenance programs. The role involves documenting work performed, coordinating with operations and engineering teams, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Maintenance Technicians help minimize downtime and support the smooth functioning of operational processes. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and attention to safety are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to restore operational performance
  • Install, replace, and calibrate equipment, machinery, and system components as required
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and service logs in computerized systems
  • Assist in planning and executing facility upgrades, retrofits, or modifications to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and operators to identify recurring issues and implement preventive measures
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies during all maintenance activities
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and coordinate procurement as needed
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime and operational impact
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical skills and operational performance

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in maintenance, repair, or industrial equipment servicing
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment and facility issues efficiently
  • Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic instruments, and precision measuring devices
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in performing maintenance, documenting work, and following technical specifications
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and vendors
