A Telehealth Coordinator is responsible for organizing and supporting virtual healthcare services to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of patient care. Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the daily operations of telehealth programs to ensure smooth scheduling, connectivity, and patient support
  • Schedule and confirm virtual appointments, ensuring alignment between patients, healthcare providers, and clinical staff
  • Provide technical assistance to patients and providers, including troubleshooting video conferencing platforms and resolving connectivity issues
  • Verify patient eligibility, collect necessary documentation, and ensure compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth logs, documenting visits, outcomes, and patient communications
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely follow-up care, prescription processing, and coordination of additional services
  • Monitor telehealth performance metrics such as patient satisfaction, attendance rates, and system reliability
  • Communicate with patients to provide instructions on accessing and using telehealth platforms before their appointments
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and recommending operational enhancements
  • Stay updated on telehealth technologies, platform updates, and healthcare compliance requirements to ensure best practices

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field preferred
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in healthcare coordination, medical office administration, or telehealth operations
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with telehealth platforms (e.g., Zoom for Healthcare, Doxy.me, Epic Telehealth) and EHR systems
  • Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and staff in a professional manner
  • Organization: Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to coordinate multiple appointments and workflows
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in maintaining patient records, verifying information, and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of HIPAA, healthcare privacy laws, and telemedicine best practices
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide clear, patient-friendly guidance
