Short Description:

A Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of construction projects, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion. They coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The role involves managing schedules, resources, contracts, and safety compliance while resolving any issues that arise during construction. Construction Project Managers also monitor progress and quality to ensure alignment with project specifications and client expectations. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of construction projects from initiation to completion
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and work plans to ensure projects are completed on time and within financial parameters
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and construction crews
  • Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with design and safety standards
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports
  • Monitor on-site progress and conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project timelines
  • Identify and mitigate project risks by developing proactive solutions to potential delays or cost overruns
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues
  • Approve project invoices, track expenses, and maintain financial oversight throughout the construction process
  • Lead project closeout activities, ensuring all documentation, warranties, and final reports are completed and submitted

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field required
  • Experience: 5–7 years of experience in construction project management, with proven success managing medium to large-scale projects
  • Project Management: Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading blueprints, construction drawings, and technical specifications
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with project management software such as Procore, Primavera, Bluebeam, or Microsoft Project
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills to coordinate diverse project teams
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for client relations and stakeholder coordination
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges, analyze solutions, and make data-driven decisions under pressure
