Short Description:

A Construction Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting project managers in planning, organizing, and executing construction projects from start to finish. They coordinate communication between contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. The role includes tracking project progress, managing documentation, processing change orders, and assisting with procurement and logistics. Construction Project Coordinators help ensure projects run efficiently and adhere to timelines and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Assist project managers in planning, scheduling, and coordinating all phases of construction projects
  • Track project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure work is completed according to schedule and specifications
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittals
  • Coordinate communication between project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure information flow and issue resolution
  • Schedule and organize project meetings, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and follow up on action items
  • Support procurement by obtaining quotes, processing purchase orders, and tracking materials and equipment deliveries
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project requirements
  • Assist with project reporting, cost tracking, and preparing progress updates for management and stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation in project management systems or databases
  • Help manage project closeout activities, including compiling warranties, manuals, and final reports

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in construction coordination, project support, or related roles
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of construction processes, terminology, and documentation requirements
  • Organization: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with diverse project stakeholders
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or Primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing project data, documents, and communications
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify potential project issues and coordinate timely resolutions
