Short Description:

A Construction Contracts Administrator is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing construction contracts to ensure compliance with project requirements and legal standards. They coordinate between contractors, project managers, and clients to handle documentation, track contract changes, and monitor project costs and deadlines. The role involves maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and resolving contract-related issues. Construction Contracts Administrators help ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and according to budget. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of construction contract law are essential for success in this role.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and manage construction contracts, subcontracts, and change orders in compliance with project specifications and legal standards
  • Assist project managers and executives in drafting, negotiating, and executing contract terms and conditions
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation, including insurance certificates, bonds, and compliance records
  • Track contract milestones, deliverables, and payment schedules to ensure timely execution and compliance
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and legal teams to resolve contract-related issues and discrepancies
  • Review invoices and progress payments for accuracy and ensure alignment with contractual agreements
  • Support bid preparation and tendering processes, including compiling documentation and coordinating submissions
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure all parties adhere to scope, budget, and timeline requirements
  • Prepare reports summarizing contract status, financial exposure, and potential risks for management review
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry best practices in all contract activities

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field required
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in contract administration within the construction or engineering industry
  • Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction contracts, including AIA, FIDIC, and other standard forms
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in reviewing and managing complex contractual documents
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, and project teams
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to identify risks, analyze contract terms, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with contract management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organization: Strong time management and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
