A Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth of an organization by identifying new market opportunities and developing relationships with potential clients or partners. The specialist collaborates with sales and marketing teams to implement strategies that increase revenue and market share. They also track performance metrics and maintain client databases to support business development goals. Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential clients, markets, and partnership opportunities to expand business reach
  • Generate and qualify leads through networking, cold calls, email campaigns, and social media outreach
  • Support the sales team by preparing proposals, presentations, and client-specific marketing materials
  • Maintain and update client relationship management (CRM) systems to track leads, interactions, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align business development strategies with company goals
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to promote company products and services
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new growth opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners to ensure long-term business success
  • Assist in contract negotiations and ensure terms align with company objectives and compliance standards
  • Prepare reports on sales activities, performance metrics, and business development initiatives for management review

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development preferred
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams
  • Sales & Networking: Excellent relationship-building and lead generation abilities
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose strategic improvements
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organization: Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust strategies based on changing business needs
