Short Description:

A Big Data Analytics Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance big data solutions that meet the analytical needs of an organization. They develop benchmark, verification criteria, and statistics analysis and ensure all aspects of the ecosystem’s solution architecture are optimized. Their duties include defining the architecture, selecting appropriate technologies, and overseeing the development of data analytics systems. Big Data Analytics Architects collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that the architecture supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence requirements. Strong expertise in big data technologies, data modeling, and a deep understanding of business analytics are crucial for success in this role, as Big Data Analytics Architects contribute to the strategic use of data for informed decision-making. 

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for application and infrastructure architecture on Cloud-based platform
  • Evangelize newly developed best practices, architecture patterns, and software development frameworks & techniques with other teams within the organization
  • Responsible for creating Middleware Architectures based on standard Java frameworks
  • Responsible for creating Service-Oriented Architectures.
  • Responsible for creating Data Access frameworks for relational and NoSQL data stores
  • Responsible for reliability and scalability; architectures and frameworks created must perform under load and at scale in Cloud-based horizontally scalable environments
  • Must lead the way by developing company standards for software architecture
  • Continually build the skills of colleagues through peer collaboration, mentoring and training

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or quivalent in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or Computer Engineering and IT
  • Experience: 8+ years IT experience.
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Judgment and Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
