Job Description Verification Engineer

Short Description:

Develop the verification methodology, selecting tools, test plans, and verification environment to ensure there are no issues with a given product prior to manufacture. Work with product designers to eliminate likely points of failure in early design.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop the verification methodology, to ensure there are no issues with a given product prior to manufacture.
  • Work with product designers to eliminate likely points of failure in early design.
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
  • Assemble systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Provide technical assistance and resolution when engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction.
  • Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
  • Review existing engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems.
  • Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations.
  • Plan method or sequence of operations for developing or testing.
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems.
  • Modify prototypes, parts, assemblies, or systems to correct functional deviations.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical applications necessary to complete tasks
  • Develop and implement tests to ensure satisfactory quality assurance standards, processes, and controls.
  • Develop methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training.
  • Evaluate production capabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
