Position Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for building, leading, and optimizing the residential moving sales department for Company. This leader must have direct household goods (HHG) industry experience, ideally with van lines, independent carriers, long-distance interstate, and international forwarding.
They will oversee a team of 4–6 inside reps, outside estimators, and a virtual assistant, and own the full sales lifecycle from lead intake and follow-up to on-site surveys, estimating, closing, and handoff to Move Coordination.

? Core Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership & Team Management
• Lead and manage a team of 4–6 (inside sales, field estimator, virtual assistant).
• Conduct weekly sales meetings, KPI reviews, and objection-handling training.
• Ensure all sales expectations and standards are followed:
o 3-day follow-up cadence
o Videos + WiseTAC sent to every lead
o Clean, detailed notes in the CRM
o Proper scheduling of on-site estimates (Tue–Thu)
o Mandatory LD on-site surveys for 1,600 sq. ft. or 5,000 lbs
• Build a high-performance culture with accountability and motivation.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new sales hires.
Large independent carriers
• Interstate HHG pricing, tariffs, regulations, and valuation
• Local, intrastate, and interstate estimating
• International forwarding (inventory standards, customs, freight timelines)

Must be skilled in:
• Binding, non-binding, and NTE quotes
• Weight/volume estimating
• Virtual & in-person surveys
• High-value items and crating
• Understanding seasonality, production capacity, and resource constraints
