About the Role
We are seeking a Billing System Specialist to provide technical and client support related to the LabInfo billing module. This position plays a key role in implementing, training, troubleshooting, and maintaining the billing systems for laboratory clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare or laboratory billing and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a specialist for the LabInfo billing system, assisting clients with inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and processing service requests.
Identify and diagnose billing module issues, determining whether solutions require remote or on-site support.
Perform billing system updates in response to insurer changes, including:
Updating billing module configurations.
Creating and managing insurance submission directories.
Setting up and configuring billing forms (e.g., 1500 form).
Detecting and correcting patient entry errors.
Supporting reconciliation and re-billing processes.
Configure new billing modules during system installations, including:
Entering diagnostic codes and insurance information.
Creating coverage and rate tables.
Configuring CPT codes.
Train new and existing clients on billing module use, including upgrades and system updates.
Prepare detailed daily reports of tasks performed.
Complete ISO service documentation for billing purposes.
Maintain professional, courteous, and timely communication with supervisors, team members, and clients.
Contribute to company culture and uphold values of efficiency, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Additional Responsibilities
Generate and close service tickets.
Support call handling when needed.
Stay up-to-date with software developments, technological advancements, and industry updates.
Participate in professional development activities, meetings, and training sessions.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education: Course in medical insurance billing.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory billing.
License: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel across Puerto Rico.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with billing systems and claim configuration (CPT, ICD, insurer setup).
Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
