Financial Reporting Accountant

Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Accountant to join an accounting team and support the Controller in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions including financial reporting, reconciliations, regulatory filings, and general ledger maintenance, all while ensuring compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations. In this role, you will prepare and assist with key financial reports such as monthly Loan Board, ALCO, and Board reports, as well as regulatory filings including the quarterly Call Report, Y-9C, Y-9LP, Summary of Deposits, FR-2900, and Y-8. You will also play an integral part in the preparation of annual audited financial statements and monthly accruals and journal entries. Additional responsibilities include managing lease agreements, insurance policies, pledged securities, and investment portfolio, ensuring the accuracy of all related accounting entries and reconciliations. The role also involves researching and resolving reconciling differences, maintaining documentation, supporting the CFO and Controller with various projects, and providing assistance to internal departments and vendors as needed. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in accounting (a degree in accounting is preferred) and possess a minimum of six years of accounting or finance experience. Proficiency in loan accounting and advanced Excel skills are essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Fiserv DNA and Prologue is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-directed professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
