Q. I was just wondering -- "temp-to-hire" -- what does this mean? Does it mean full-time, how long would you be temping at a place till they would decide to hire you or not?
A. Temp-to-hire is like having a trial period for you and for the prospective employer. You are able to evaluate the company and decide if you enjoy the work and the environment. You're also able to prove yourself to the prospective employer in a way that is more comprehensive than what you'd be able to do in a short interview.
Similarly, the prospective employer is able to evaluate you and determine whether you are a good fit for their organization.
The amount of time it takes before a hiring decision is expected to be made will vary. Typically a client company will request anywhere from 240 hours to 720 hours. They will work with the AppleOne Account Executive to determine which plan works best for them. However, they may decide to extend an offer of employment at any time, so it could happen much faster than that.
So, the short answer is, it depends.
