Q. I'm thinking about going back to school in the hopes that I can ride out the current job market, and maybe things will be a little easier when I get out. Does that make sense?
A. It may make sense. That's something that only you can really answer. Some things to ask yourself include:
1. Do you have a way to pay for school and support yourself while you are in school? Cashing in savings, family, loans or government assistance are common ways to finance this, but as with anything, there are tradeoffs to consider.
2. Will the skills you choose to learn be in high demand when you're done? Some programs may have better employment prospects than others, so don't just assume that any education will give you a leg up. Research your chosen path carefully.
